Today marks the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan. On 26 June 1918, by a decision of the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first regular military unit, the Separate Azerbaijan Corps was established. Subsequently, on 1 August 1918, the Ministry of War was founded. Prominent military leaders Khosrov bey Sultanov, Samad bey Mehmandarov, and Alagha Shikhlinski played a significant role in the formation of the National Army and the enhancement of its combat capability. The development and strengthening of the modern Azerbaijani Army are closely associated with the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. In accordance with his Decree of 22 May 1998, 26 June, the date marking the establishment of the Separate Azerbaijan Corps, was proclaimed the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan and has since been celebrated annually as a national holiday. Over recent years, the Azerbaijani Army has undergone remarkable development and has become one of the strongest and most modern armed forces in the region. Under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, the Armed Forces ensured the full restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and state sovereignty, becoming the author of our glorious Victory. Today, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, comprising the Land Forces, Air Force, Air Defense Forces, and Naval Forces, represent a professional and powerful military force that serves as a reliable guarantor of our country's security.

On the occasion of this remarkable day, we extend our sincere congratulations to all active-duty personnel and veterans of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and wish them continued success in their dedicated service to the defense of our Motherland.
