Senior Researcher of the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, PhD in Biological Sciences Turana Isgandarova, participated in the international training school held on June 30 - July 1, 2026, at the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC), Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. The training school was organized within the framework of the COST Action CA22157 - RECROP (Epigenetic and Post-Transcriptional Gene Regulation for Stress Response and Memory During Plant Reproduction).

Turana Isgandarova presented a poster entitled " Epigenetic and Post-Transcriptional Control of Antioxidant Networks and Stress Memory During Drought-Induced Senescence in Wheat." The poster highlighted the results of research on the activity of the antioxidant defense system under drought stress, the expression of superoxide dismutase isoforms, the regulation of stress-responsive genes, epigenetic mechanisms, and the role of post-transcriptional regulation in the establishment of stress memory in wheat. These findings were presented to the international scientific community.

The training program included theoretical and practical sessions on DNA methylation and transcriptome regulation, alternative splicing and post-transcriptional gene regulation, epigenetic mechanisms of abiotic stress responses, translational regulation, bioinformatic analysis of RNA-seq data, identification of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and the molecular basis of stress responses. In addition, participants took part in poster sessions and scientific discussions and became acquainted with the latest advances in plant stress biology and epigenetics.

During the training school, ideas were exchanged with researchers from different countries, and discussions were held on developing future collaborative research projects.
