The journal “Transactions of the Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnologies” (TIMBB) (ISSN: Print – 2709-0744; Online – 2709-0752), published by the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been accepted into the prestigious SCOPUS international indexing database. The journal is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access publication that publishes multidisciplinary research in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, agricultural sciences, and medical sciences. It is one of the first national scientific journals in the field of biological sciences in Azerbaijan indexed in SCOPUS.

This significant achievement will further strengthen the journal's position within the international scientific publishing community while promoting wider global dissemination of fundamental and applied research conducted in Azerbaijan. It will also enhance the international visibility of Azerbaijani scientists, increase the citation potential of their research, and contribute to strengthening the country's scientific reputation.

Over the past several years, comprehensive reforms have been implemented to fully align the journal with international publishing standards. First and foremost, the journal's official website (www.timbb.az) was completely redesigned in accordance with modern international requirements, becoming a functional and user-oriented platform. The website now incorporates key international publishing standards, including an Open Access policy based on the principles of open science, the COPE publication ethics guidelines, the Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0) license, the DOI system, ORCID integration, detailed author and reviewer guidelines, a plagiarism policy, copyright regulations, an electronic manuscript management system, and other essential publishing practices.

The journal's distinguished Editorial Board has also played a vital role in establishing its international reputation. The Editorial Board includes renowned scientists from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Türkiye, China, South Korea, Hungary, Romania, Pakistan, India, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and several other countries. It is particularly noteworthy that Nobel Laureate and world-renowned scientist Professor Aziz Sancar serves as an Honorary Member of the Editorial Board.

The journal is published twice a year, and all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by independent experts. Obtaining reviews from distinguished specialists from foreign countries is one of the key principles of the journal's editorial policy, ensuring the objective evaluation and high scientific quality of published articles.

Acceptance into the SCOPUS international indexing database represents a major milestone in the development of Transactions of the Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnologies” and marks an important achievement in the integration of Azerbaijani science into the global scientific information space.

This success is the result of the purposeful policies implemented under the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, the consistent efforts aimed at expanding international scientific cooperation, and the long-term, systematic work of the journal's Editorial Board.
