In an interview with AZƏRTAC, Konul Bakhshaliyeva, Head of the Microbiological Biotechnology Laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Biology, said that researchers study bacteria and fungi isolated from soil and other natural sources to identify promising strains for agricultural applications.
The laboratory has developed and patented biofertilizers based on beneficial microorganisms. Research is continuing to create new biological products that can reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and support sustainable agriculture.
