Academician Irada Huseynova, Vice-President of ANAS and Acting Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a presentation titled “Professor Aziz Sancar: His Life, Scientific Legacy and Contributions to World Science” at the scientific conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Nobel Prize laureate and Honorary Member of ANAS, Professor Aziz Sancar.

In her presentation, Academician Huseynova highlighted Professor Sancar’s life and scientific career, emphasizing his groundbreaking contributions to the study of DNA repair mechanisms and his 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. She also spoke about his strong ties to his roots, his contributions to supporting young scientists, and his visits to Azerbaijan, including meetings with President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijani scientists and students.

Concluding her presentation, Academician Huseynova noted that Aziz Sancar’s life embodies the philosophy of “Hard Work, Science and Loyalty” and that his scientific legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
