The article entitled “Organic compounds as Photosystem II inhibitors and Cu2+ ligands: insights from primary screening” has been published in the journal “Photosynthetica” co-authored by chief researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Suleyman Allahverdiyev and researcher at the Laboratory of Photobioenergetics and Green Energy Mehriban Shabanova. The journal, which has an impact factor of 2.0, is ranked in the Q2 quartile in the “Plant Sciences” category.
The effects of three novel organic compounds on the photochemical activity of Photosystem II and their ability to bind copper ions have been investigated. The findings are important for selecting promising compounds for the development of biologically active substances and refining the requirements for their structural properties.
