On January 19, 2018, a seminar was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies on the theme "Influence of effector proteins of phytoplasmas on plant development and the relationship between plants and insects". Gulnara Balakishieva, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Bioadaptation, PhD in Biology, who presented the report, acquainted the participants of the seminar with the latest results obtained from studies of phytoplasmas, their life cycle between the host plant and the insect vector, and effector proteins, which are virulence factors, the influence of phytoplasmas on the development of plants and the mechanisms of their action on the relationship between plants and insects. The scientist's report was met with great interest, after which a wide-ranging discussion took place.
