On October 21, Ph.D. student of Bioadaptation laboratory, Turana Isgandarova gave a seminar on "Molecular network mechanisms of leaf aging" at the Institute of Molecular biology and Biotechnologies. The reporter talked about gene regulatory networks during leaf aging, NAC and WRKY TF families, including the latest data available through omics technologies. She interpreted the results of stress-induced aging of leaves on the identification and characterization of TF at chromatin, transcriptional, posttranscriptional and posttranslational levels. The reporter provided extensive information about cross-linking between hormone signal transduction and leaf aging, identification of TF associated with hormone signaling negative and positive regulation of hormone-induced leaf aging. Genetic strategies to improve the productivity and quality of the crops were also described. The presentation was met with great interest and wide discussions were held around the report.
