On November 4, Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry (ISA) held a conference dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the prominent scientist soil science and corresponding member of ANAS Mammadamin Salayev.

The presentation of book “Life dedicated to science" was also held within the event.

Vice-presidents of ANAS academicians - Dilgam Tagiyev, Isa Habibbayli, Irada Huseynova, academician secretary of ANAS, correspondeing member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov, academician secretary of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences (DBMS), ANAS advisors, academics - Urkhan Alakbarov, Garib Mammadov, directors of scientific institutions and organizations included in DBMS, employees of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, as well as soil scientists of the Republic.

Opening the event, academician Ahliman Amiraslanov welcomed the conference on behalf of the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev. He noted that one of the main initiators of mapping of Azerbaijani lands, M. Salayev also had exceptional services in the formation of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, enrichment of its material and technical base and training of young specialists. He noted that the scientist has a special contribution to the construction of forest stripes in the western region of Azerbaijan, water management of the Kur-Araz plain, construction of the Nagorno-Karabakh irrigation canal and the Mingachevir water junction, as well as the study of the Small Caucasus.

Later, head laboratory of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, academician Maharram Babayev delivered a lecture on "Scientific-organizational activity of the corresponding member of ANAS Mammadamin Salayev".

The event was also attended by academics - Irada Huseynov, Urkhan Alakbarov, Director of ISA, corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev, PhD in Agrarian sciences - Vilayat Hasanov and Roza Aliyeva, who had shared their memories of the scientist.

In conclusion, the son of the scientist Fuad Salayev expressed his gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event on behalf of his family.
