On February 4, Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS has held the first meeting of the editorial board of the third edition of the "Red Book of the Republic of Azerbaijan".

During the event, vice-president of the editorial board, vice-president of ANAS academician Irada Huseynova noted that in our country, as in other areas, scientific activity is developing dynamically, and there are some achievements.

Noting that the Academy has expanded its cooperation with a number of government agencies, Irada Huseynova said successful reforms were carried out under the leadership of the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev.

The scientist also informed about the third edition of the "Red Book of the Republic of Azerbaijan", jointly developed by ANAS and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He noted that a decision of the Presidium of January 9, 2020 approved the new composition of the editorial board.

Academicians Valida Alizadeh, ANAS corresponding member Elshad Gurbanov, professors Sayyara Ibadullayeva, Shaik Ibrahimov, Doctors of biological sciences Vahid Farzaliyev, Elshad Ahmadov, Aydin Asgarov, Dilzara Aghayeva, Naiba Mehdiyeva reported at the event and recommended their suggestions.

At the event, members of the editorial board exchanged views on a number of issues, identified future directions and made relevant decisions.

Summing up the meeting, academician Irada Huseynova noted the need to develop an action plan for the publication of the Red Book of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023.

In the end, it was decided to set up a working group led by academician Valida Alizadeh.
