AzTV Channel broadcast a plot about an online meeting with the participation of the Union of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic world Apr 24, 2020 | 13:52 / Important events

A video was shown on the AzTV channel about an extraordinary meeting of the Union of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic World (UASTW), held by video conference at the initiative of the International Turkic Academy.

The meeting was organized to discuss the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The heads of the academies of sciences of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan took part in the video conference.

The plot reports that the event was dedicated to the current state of science in the Turkic states in a crisis situation, the exchange of experience in decision-making in a pandemic, as well as a discussion of promising areas of scientific cooperation.

In an interview with AzTV, the president of the International Turkic Academy, Darkhan Kidirali, spoke about ways to combat coronavirus and the importance of working together in this direction.

The first vice-president of ANAS academician Isa Habibbayli took part in the event through a video conferencing system. The scientist noted that over the two-year presidency of Azerbaijan, UASTW has implemented a number of joint projects. He noted that the organization of an emergency summit of the heads of state online by President Ilham Aliyev, who chairs the Turkic Council, is an important event that reveals a new model of international cooperation in difficult and difficult conditions.

According to I. Habibbayli, the current situation shows that the use of virtual space is the most convenient way during interruptions in real-space communications: “For this, scientific organizations must master modern technologies that operate continuously. Academies should redefine their information and communication capabilities and improve this area.”

At the event, President of the Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan academician Murad Jumatayev, proposed creating a common database of symptoms of the coronavirus pandemic, its spread in the Turkic world, and the search for treatment methods and results. Professor Ahmad Javad Akar, President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, said that they had prepared the report “COVID-19 Pandemic: Assessment” and were ready to share it with other member countries. Other members of the organization also shared their views on cooperation in emergency situations.

Following the meeting, the union adopted a special resolution.
