An article of the IMBB staff has been published in a prestigious international journal Apr 29, 2020 | 13:00 / Publications

The article "Daily changes in the activity of ascorbate-glutathione cycle components in drought-affected wheat genotypes”  co-authored the employees of IMBB: academician Irada Huseynova, Ph.D. Durna Aliyeva, Ph.D. Ismayil Zulfugarov and researcher of the institute, dissertator Lala Aydinli was published in the high-impact journal Functional Plant Biology. The results presented in the article show that the leaves of hard (Triticum durum Desf.) And soft (Triticum aestivum L.) wheat genotypes exposed to prolonged drought contain ascorbic acid and glutathione reductase, ascorbate peroxide, which are the main components of the ascorbate-glutathione cycle obtained as a result of a comparative study of the dynamics of change during the day. The research is important to clarify the resistance of wheat to water scarcity and the creation of stress-resistant varieties.
