On May 14 the online meeting of the Scientific Council of IMBB was held. At the meeting chaired by the director of the institute academician Irada Huseynova, a number of issues implemented during the pandemic and post-pandemic period. I.Huseynova said that the Azerbaijani government is taking necessary measures to prevent the threats posed by the global coronavirus pandemic, organize social protection and ensure economic activity. According to the Order of the President of ANAS Ramiz Mehdiyev  “On regulation of attendance of ANAS employees in connection with an extension of special quarantine regime in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated May 4, 2020, the activity of employees was partially restored. The number of employees under the age of 65 and who must go to work was determined and their names were posted on “icaze.e-gov.az”. I.Huseynova provided information about activities of employees, works carried out during pandemic, and she noted the employees prepared proposals on scientific research work to be carried out during CORONAVIRUS and POST-CORONAVIRUS and submitted to the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences. She noted with pride the involvement of world-renowned specialists in the process of developing a vaccine against the COVID-19 virus, as well as our scientists currently working abroad - corresponding member of ANAS Tarlan Mammadov, Professor Vidadi Yusibov. Head of the international laboratory Molecular bioengineering, professor of the University of Akdeniz in Turkey, correspondent member of ANAS Tarlan Mammadov joined the online meeting and informed about the issues in the direction of preparing an effective vaccine against coronavirus. He said that on April 30, 2020, he applied to the US Patent and Commerce Office for a patent based on the results obtained. Correspondent members of ANAS Novruz Guliyev and Ilham Shahmuradov emphasized the implementation of complex measures under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to control and prevent coronavirus infection in Azerbaijan and the multifaceted preventive measures yielded positive results. Then the head of the Department of Education, Ph.D., associate prof. Samira Rustamova informed about the state of preparation of dissertations of second-year masters graduating this year. Other organizational issues were also discussed at the meeting.
