On May 15, the regular online meeting of the Presidium of ANAS was held.

Opening the event President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev said that the meeting will discuss issues related to the activities of the High Technologies Park of ANAS (HT Park). Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev noted that the High-Tech Park, created by order of President Ilham Aliyev, plays a special role in the field of commercialization of science and technology transfer in our country.

Then the director of HT Park, academician Ali Abbasov made a presentation about the current state of affairs in the High Technologies Park of ANAS and the prospects for its further development. Speaking about the need to use high technology in innovation and the economy, Ali Abbasov emphasized that the main way to ensure the high dynamics of projects aimed at developing the park is the use of research and development in the implementation of targeted innovative programs, relying on a multidisciplinary an approach. Talking about the high-tech parks operating in the CIS countries, their sources of investment, residents and their innovative projects, the academician noted that to achieve success in this area, there is a need for a national human potential, a promising environment and financial resources.

Academician Ali Abbasov voiced relevant proposals on issues such as the adoption of various state-owned companies in the residency of HT Park, strengthening cooperation with higher education institutions, the creation of the Investment Fund of HT Park, the expansion of digital services, the formation of a register of intellectual products, the development of a legislative framework for improving the innovation ecosystem, restoration of the incubation activity of the park, including the creation of new institutions with the joint participation of state organizations th and institutions of ANAS, etc. He said that the implementation of the measures aimed at further development will contribute to the development of the economic and intellectual potential of HT Park, the growth of extrabudgetary funds of ANAS and the attraction of local and foreign investors.

The meeting voiced various proposals related to the application of projects in the VH Park, which has sufficiently broad prospects for achieving strategic goals. The first vice presidents of ANAS, academicians Isa Habibbayli and Ibrahim Guliyev, vice presidents of ANAS, academicians Dilgam Tagiyev, Irada Huseynova, Rasim Alguliyev, academician-secretary of ANAS, corresponding member of Aminaga Sadigov, head of the Department of Affairs, Doctor of Technical Sciences Professor Elton Mammadov, director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of ANAS, academician Vagif Abbasov and director of the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University, academician Fikret Aliyev took part in the discussions.

In his speech at the online event, ANAS first vice-president, academician Isa Habibbayli said that the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Science” adopted in 2016 opens up great opportunities for the development and application of high-tech new technologies and high-tech products in the production. Having said that it is necessary to study the possibilities of high-tech parks that exist in other countries, academician Isa Habibbayli emphasized that the application of international experience in this area will bring tangible benefits for the further activities of HT Park. The academician also talked about the importance of applying promising patents in production and noted that articles on the new achievements of scientists of the academy are regularly published in the printing organ of the Presidium of ANAS - the newspaper “Elm” (“Science”).

Then the vice president of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev spoke. The scientist proposed to carry out monitoring to identify the needs of educational and scientific institutions of the republic and to satisfy these needs, noting that in this way it is possible to achieve even greater development of the national economy and prevent the outflow of capital from the country abroad.

At the meeting, proposals on the creation of the Patent Center under the Presidium of ANAS were also announced.

Then the president of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev made a speech. The head of ANAS gave relevant instructions aimed at turning the HT Park into an organization that meets modern requirements and brings significant benefits to the country's economy, examines patents received by academy scientists and finances promising projects, as well as holds round tables during the post-pandemic period to identify educational and scientific needs institutions of the republic.
