Leading researcher of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS, scientific secretary of the Azerbaijan National Committee for Bioethics, Ph.D. Gulnara Balakishiyeva participated in the international webinar title in “COVID-19 vaccine: Solution or Problem? Preparing of COVID-19 vaccine, distribution, and ethic discussions in application” co-organized by the Oman National Commission on Bioethics, UNESCO and Sultan Gaboos University held on September 15, 2020. Reports on the preparation of COVID-19 vaccines, ethical aspects of trying obtained vaccines, the role of international organizations in this regard, the definition of ethical rules for prioritizing the distribution of vaccines, ethical and legal regulation of vaccine use at the international level were presented. At the panel discussion, the speakers answered questions about the ethical problems that may arise during the preparation, distribution, and application of vaccines and their solutions.
