On September 24, 2020, the regular meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies was held. Several members of the council took part in the event, which was held in accordance with the requirements of the quarantine regime and with a social distance. The vice-president of ANAS, director of the institute, Chairman of the Scientific Council Irada Huseynova opened the meeting and acquainted the participants with the agenda. Informing the members of the council about the admission to the master’s program of the institute, the head of the Education department, association professor Samira Rustamova said that 3 students majoring in “Molecular biology”, 2 in “Biotechnology”, and 2 in “Biochemistry” entered the master’s program this year. At the meeting, some issues were discussed such as sending of Aytaj Murshudzade, the 2^nd-year master student majoring in “Biotechnology” to Akdeniz University, Turkey, and Elnara Sadigova, junior researcher of the laboratory of “Plant biotechnology” to Ghent University, Belgium for doctoral study. The event also discussed the submission of articles to the next issues of the journal "Scientific Works of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies" and "Reports of ANAS", the definition of topics for lectures in the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences. Academician Irada Huseynova congratulated a member of the Scientific Council, Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Plant Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head researcher of the Institute of Fundamental Problems of Biology, head of the international laboratory of Bionanotechnology, doctor of biological sciences Suleyman Allahverdiyev on his 70th anniversary and wished him successes in his future scientific activity. It was decided to submit a petition to the Presidium to hold the anniversary session of the scientist.
