General meeting of Azerbaijan Society of Botanists was held at the main building of ANAS

At the event, held by the participation of botanists of the republic,  presidential and board members elections of the Azerbaijan Society of Botanists were held, as well as a draft on amending the second edition of the charter of the society was presented. Director of the Institute of Botany, academic Valida Alizadeh was elected president of Azerbaijan Society of Botanists by voting. Academic Tariyel Talibov, correspondent members of ANAS - Magsud Gurbanov, Vagif Novruzov were elected vice-president of the society and professor of ANAS Dilzara Aghayeva was elected executive secretary.

At the event, discussions were held on the development of scientific relations of the society in the regions, enhancement of personnel training, promotion of botanical science and biodiversity conservation.
