On June 22 a regular scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies. Assistant professor of Erciyes University in Kayseri, Turkey, our compatriot Yagut Erdem (Akbarova) gave a presentation at the seminar. She started her scientific activity with the joint scientific leadership of academic Jalal Aliyev and correspondent member of ANAS Ilham Shahmuradov. Later, Yaqut Erdem worked as a researcher at the Sultan Qaboos University in the Sultanate of Oman. Since 2009, she has worked as an assistant professor at Erciyes University in Kayseri, Turkey and participated in many projects and gave presentations at numerous scientific conferences. Her scientific research focuses on studying genetic basis of human diseases.

Her scientific projects on brain cancer treatment, excess weight problems and research on genes associated with diabetes mellitus have been awarded prizes and a number of scientific articles in this field have been published in international journals.

Yagut Erdem gave a presentation on "Investigation of candidate genes in children with attention deficit and hypertension". The scientist said that attention problems, extreme mobility are characteristic symptoms of lack of attention and hyperactivity disorder. The report was listened with interest by the staff of the institute and extensive discussions were held.
