Sevinj Musayeva, a junior researcher at the Laboratory of Enzymology of Photosynthetic Carbon Assimilation of RA MSE Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, was on a scientific trip at Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey on 19.09.2022-22.09.2022. The young researcher participated in the training school on "Role of low oxygen concentration in fruit physiology and post-harvest storage". On the first training day, S. Musayeva listened to the reports of dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Akdeniz University, prof. Dr. Mustafa Erkan, Professor of the University of Toulouse Mondher Bouzayen, prof. Bart Nicolai, Angelo Zanella, the head of the program Julien Pirrello. On the second day of the training, a trip to cold storage warehouses with Controlled Atmosphere (CA) and Dynamic Controlled Atmosphere (DCA) systems was organized at the "Gulbudak Apple Cultivation and Export" enterprise located in the Isparta region of the Republic of Turkey. The participants of the training got acquainted with the working principles of CA and DCA systems and fruit storage mechanisms in warehouses. On the third and fourth days of the training, the participants learned how to use the gas chromatography method to determine the rate of ethylene synthesis and respiration in the laboratory, how to determine the ratio of O2 and CO2 gases in the storage of various fruits, as well as methods for determining the quality indicators of stored fruits and the working principles of laboratory devices.
