On November 9, within the framework of the 16th Summit of the Organization for Economic Cooperation (ECO), held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, awards of the Organization were presented in various fields of science. Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova, was chosen as the winner among the candidates of the member countries of the organization in the field of science and technology. The corresponding certificate, medal and cash award signed by the OIC Secretary General Khusrav Noziri were presented by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Alizadeh, who participated in the event. The meeting was held at the highest level.

The award ceremony took place at the Presidium of ANAS. Speaking at the event, the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that the award presented to academician Irada Huseynova is the success of all Azerbaijani scientists, including employees of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of the Academy. Academician Irada Huseynova expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of the country, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran and ANAS. Then, Vice-President of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova, awarded by the Organization of Economic Cooperation for high scientific achievements in the category of science and technology in 2023, was awarded a medal, certificate and cash prize. It should be noted that the awards established by the Organization of Economic Cooperation in various fields are awarded to one person selected among the candidates submitted by member countries of the Organization in each category.
