Gunay Ismayilova chose the path of science with determination, aware of its difficulties. Born on January 16, 1994, in Baku, she showed an early interest in knowledge, books, and biology. At school, she won several subject Olympiads, especially in biology, which confirmed her deep interest in science. In 2011, she entered the Biology Teaching program at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and later continued her studies at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS, graduating with distinction.

In 2018, she began doctoral studies in Biotechnology and completed her dissertation on epigenetic changes in wheat culture under in vitro conditions. She also conducted part of her research at Yildiz Technical University in Turkey, mastering modern methods. She has actively presented her results abroad, including at conferences in Serbia and Italy, representing Azerbaijan on the international stage.

Since 2015, she has worked as a researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, also teaching biotechnology-related subjects to master’s students. Gunay Ismayilova is known for her precision, patience, and determination, and she aims to carry out broader research in the future. In addition to being a successful scientist, she is a mother of two children, who are proud of her dedication to science.
